DESCRIPTION:Alabama Power will be removing overhead power lines along the north side of University Blvd between Hackberry Lane and 2nd Ave starting Tuesday\, January 9th at 9:00 am.  This work will last approximately 4 hours.The west bound lane of University Blvd and the parallel sidewalk running east/west on the north side will be closed to allow for this work.\nUA Transportation will be setting up a digital message board well in advance to the east of the closure. \n \nTraffic Detour:\nThe majority of traffic will be detoured onto 2nd Ave towards Bryant Drive\nAccess onto 4th Street will be allowed for those who wish to travel 4th Street to Devotie Drive to Hackberry Lane.\n \nAttached is a map highlighting the section of roadway to be closed in red. \nThe two locations in yellow show where overhead power lines are to be removed that cross University Blvd.  At these two locations\, the east bound traffic will be momentarily stopped to allow for this portion of the work.
