Parking Lot Closure – Smith/Jones Lot

During this time, access to the parking lot will not be allowed from Hackberry Ln.  Access to the west half of the parking lot will be allowed from Margaret Dr. up until excavation towards Smith Hall begins.  This particular date is unknown at this time.
The access road on north side of Mary Harmon Bryant is still planned to be open for traffic no later than Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018.

Lane Closure – University Blvd Westbound between Hackberry and 2nd Ave

Alabama Power will be removing overhead power lines along the north side of University Blvd between Hackberry Lane and 2nd Ave starting Tuesday, January 9th at 9:00 am.  This work will last approximately 4 hours.The west bound lane of University Blvd and the parallel sidewalk running east/west on the north side will be closed to allow for this work.
UA Transportation will be setting up a digital message board well in advance to the east of the closure. 
 
Traffic Detour:
The majority of traffic will be detoured onto 2nd Ave towards Bryant Drive
Access onto 4th Street will be allowed for those who wish to travel 4th Street to Devotie Drive to Hackberry Lane.
 
Attached is a map highlighting the section of roadway to be closed in red. 
The two locations in yellow show where overhead power lines are to be removed that cross University Blvd.  At these two locations, the east bound traffic will be momentarily stopped to allow for this portion of the work.

Parking Lot Closure – Smith/Jones Lot

During this time, access to the parking lot via Margaret Drive will not be allowed.  Access to the east half of the parking lot will be allowed via Hackberry beginning February 5.The parking lot will be closed on February 5 in order to relocate the fence and the pipe.

Lane Closure – East Bound Lane of Margaret Drive

A portion of the east bound lane of Margaret Dr. will be closed between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM from Monday (2/19/18) through Wednesday (2/21/18). A flagman will be present during the hours of the closure to help with traffic flow.
 This should not impact the exit drive from the Fresh Foods Dining Hall.
 

Thermal Hot Water Outage – Smith Hall

• If outside temps were to drop low enough, the heating for this building can be supplied by the existing campus steam system
