Planning is complete for a water outage on the USC (Partlow Campus) in order to perform some necessary maintenance on the water line.This outage is scheduled for July 7th,  from 6:00 am until 11:00 am.

Electrical Shutdown – Garland Hall , UA Building Maintenance Clark Hall Exterior Enhancements

Planning is complete for an upcoming electrical shutdown of Garland Hall in order to tie-in an exterior lighting circuit for the subject project.This shutdown is scheduled for Thursday, July 12th, 2018 from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
Notes:
• Garland Hall does not have an emergency generator
• Fire alarm system is on battery backup and will remain operational
• All computers within the building will need to shutoff prior to the shutdown
• UA Electrical to submit work orders to UA HVAC, UA Plumbing and UA Elevator for building support.

Water Outage – University Services Campus Water Lines , UA# UTL-18-1449

Fire Sprinkler Outage – Mal Moore Athletic Facility Recruiting Room Upgrades , UA# 085-18-1485

Planning is complete for an upcoming fire sprinkler outage at the Mal Moore Athletic Facility.This outage is scheduled for Thursday, July 12th, 2018 from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
This will not be an entire building outage.
Plumbing Shop and EHS are aware.
Notes:
• UA Plumbing shop will valve off the system and refill once work is complete
• Contractor to drain the system and make the tie-in
• EHS to bypass the flow switches prior to refilling the system
• Fire watch not required due to duration being less than 4 hours
• Alison Ferrer to submit work orders to UA Plumbing and UA EHS

Electrical Shutdown – New Freshman Residence Hall , UA# 272-16-952

Planning is complete for an upcoming electrical shutdown in order to remove the temporary construction power for the New Freshman Res. Hall project.This shutdown is scheduled for July 13th, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Notes:
• This will essentially have no impact on any adjacent buildings
• This will require the transformer serving the emergency power system of Ridgecrest E & W to be de-energized, thus, causing the emergency generator to respond.  Once emergency generator responds within seconds, Ridgecrest E & W will function as normal again
• The fire pump will remain operational once the generator responds
• UA Electrical to perform power shutdown
• UA HVAC to verify if A/C units for data closet are on e-power and verify if operational

Steam Outage – Athletic Energy Plant , UA Plumbing Maintenance

UA Plumbing will need to shutdown the steam system feeding Coleman Coliseum, the Indoor Practice Facility, the and Strength and Conditioning Facility in order to make repairs to the steam line.This shutdown is scheduled to start Monday night, July 16th, 2018 and last until sometime on Wednesday, July 18th, 2018.
This will only impact the reheating for the buildings listed above.
Athletics is aware that these buildings could possibly see slightly lower temps than normal.
UA HVAC will make adjustments to regulate temps.

Electrical Shutdown – Friedman Hall, Maxwell Hall and Graves Hall , UA Electrical Maintenance

Planning is complete for an upcoming electrical shutdown of Friedman Hall and Maxwell Hall in order for UA Electrical to perform preventive maintenance.This shutdown is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 from 5:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
**Graves Hall could possibly be shutdown for 30 minutes at the beginning and ending of the above timeframe.
Notes:
• Friedman Hall and Maxwell Hall do not have a back-up emergency generator
• Fire alarm systems for all buildings are on battery back-up and will remain operational
• No other building concerns
• No concerns at Graves Hall due to short duration of outages

Electrical Shutdown – 401 Queen City Ave. Building (Old System’s Office) , Alabama Power Co.

Alabama Power Co. will need to shutoff power to 401 Queen City Ave. in order to fix an issue caused by a recent storm event.This shutdown is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24th, 2018 starting at 7:30 AM and could last approx. 2 hours.
Notes:
• Building rep is aware and will coordinate shutdown with building occupants
• Please shutdown all computers and electronic equipment prior to the interruption
• UA Facilities will need to address any concerns involving building components

Fire Sprinkler Outage – Capital Hall 2nd Floor Renovation for Title IX Office , UA# 419-18-1684

Planning is complete for an upcoming fire sprinkler outage at Capital Hall in order to relocate a couple of existing sprinkler heads.This outage is scheduled for Thursday, July 19th, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Notes:
• Global Fire will perform shutoff and drain the system.  UA Plumbing is ok with this since Global is familiar with the system
• This will not impact the entire building.  Global is aware of location of isolation valves
• UA EHS to zone off fire alarm system and bypass the flow switches
• Global to provide fire watch due to duration of outage
• Work order has already been sent to UA EHS

Gas Outage – Tutwiler Hall and Transit Maint. Facility , UA Plumbing Maintenance

The UA Plumbing Dept. will be shutting off gas to Tutwiler Hall and the Transit Maint. Facility (University Services Campus) for maintenance reasons.This outage is scheduled for Wednesday, July 25th, 2018 from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
This will impact the domestic hot water for both buildings.
According to UA HVAC, this should only impact the building reheat system for the Mathlab at Tutwiler.  Expect slightly lower inside temperatures.
