Planning is complete for an upcoming electrical shutdown of Tutwiler Hall.This shutdown is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24th, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Notes:
• Building has a back-up emergency generator
• Fire Alarm system will remain operational
• Building does not have camps this day and should only be occupied by a few staff
• UA HVAC to shutoff HVAC equipment and restart once power is restored
• No concerns with plumbing equipment
• UA Elevator Maint. will need to shutoff and secure the elevators
• Michael Sumners to submit work orders to UA Elect, UA HVAC and UA Elevator Maint.

Electrical Shutdown – University Services Campus Medium Voltage Upgrades , UA# 000-15-377

Planning is complete for an upcoming electrical shutdown of the University Services Campus.• Impacted buildings include:
o All buildings north of Ruby Tyler Pkwy
o F.C. White Food Service building and Wallace Educational building which are on the south side of Ruby Tyler Pkwy
o The New Kitchen for Bryce and the Main Bryce Hospital will not be impacted
This electrical shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, July 28th, 2018 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Notes for buildings currently in-use:

o Has back-up emergency generator
o Fire alarm system on generator and battery back-up and will remain operational
o Building is sprinkled and on city water pressure
o Sewer pump for the west bathrooms is not on the emergency back-up system.  These bathrooms do not need to be used

Planning is complete for an upcoming electrical shutdown of Lakeside Dining in order to test the emergency generator.This shutdown is scheduled for Friday, August 10th, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Due to notice of shutdown, this was coordinated by phone with all parties.
Notes:
• UA Electrical to shutoff normal power to simulate a power loss
• UA HVAC to shutoff equipment remotely and monitor start-up
• UA Elevator Maint. to shutoff and secure the elevators

Gas Outage – Shelby Hall and Graves Hall , UA Plumbing Maintenance

A short, 30 minute gas outage has been planned for Shelby Hall and Graves Hall in order to perform maintenance to the gas meter.This work is scheduled for some time between 11:00 PM on Wednesday, August 8th, 2018 and 7:00 AM on Thursday, August 9th, 2018.
Due to the short duration, the buildings shouldn’t see much of an impact. 
Impacts include:
• Gas to labs in Shelby Hall
• Domestic hot water to both buildings
• Building reheat in Graves Hall
UA Plumbing and UA HVAC to verify that all equipment is operational once work is complete.

Electrical Shutdown – Hardaway Hall , UA Electrical Maintenance

Planning is complete for an upcoming electrical shutdown of Hardaway Hall in order for UA Electrical to take measurements of the main switch gear for a future upgrade.This shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, August 11th, 2018 from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Due to notice of shutdown, this was coordinated by phone with all parties.
Notes:
• This building does not have a back-up emergency generator
• Fire alarm system is on battery back-up and will remain operational
• All computers and sensitive equipment will need to be shutoff prior to the shutdown
• OIT will monitor equipment remotely
• EHS and Lawrence Hill (building rep) to coordinate start-up of lab safety equipment
• UA Elevator Maint. to shutoff and secure the elevators
• Lawrence Hill to notify all faculty/staff in the building
• UA Electrical to submit work orders to all shops

Electrical Shutdown – 401 Queen City Ave. Building (Old System’s Office) , UA Electrical Maintenance

UA Electrical will need to shutoff power to 401 Queen City Ave. in order to replace electrical equipment. 
This shutdown is scheduled for Monday, August 21st, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
 
Notes:
• Building rep is aware and will coordinate shutdown with building occupants
• Please shutdown all computers and electronic equipment prior to the interruption
• This will also impact the network and phones for University Club, Locke House, and Pinehurst #’s 7, 9 and 11.
• UA Facilities and UA OIT will need to address any concerns involving building components

Electrical Shutdown – Morgan Hall , UA Electrical Maintenance

Planning is complete for an upcoming electrical shutdown of Morgan Hall in order for UA Electrical to perform preventive maintenance.This shutdown is scheduled for Sunday, September 2nd, 2018 from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM.
Notes:
• Building does not have a back-up emergency generator
• Fire alarm system is on battery back-up and will remain operational
• Building rep is aware and will notify occupants to turn off all computers prior to shutdown
• Theatre and Dance is aware.  The auditorium in Morgan Hall will be used Sunday afternoon for rehearsals
• Morgan Hall has a sump pump.  If rain is expected, then UA Plumbing says shutdown should be rescheduled or the sump pump needs to be place on temporary generator.
• UA Elevator will shutdown and secure the 1 elevator

Electrical Shutdown – Bidgood Hall Behavioral Lab 249, UA# 031-18-1504

Planning is complete for an electrical shutdown at Bidgood Hall to test emergency lighting for the new Behavioral Lab 249.The shutdown is scheduled for Wednesday September 5th from 5:00 – 5:30 am.

Notes:
• The electrical shop did verify that the emergency generator is in service and functioning properly.
• The outage will effect Bidgood Hall and the Bruno Library.
• The outage will only effect normal power, anything on emergency power will not be effected.
• UA Electrical will perform the power shutdown.
• UA Electrical will have a generator tech on site during the shutdown.

Electrical Shutdown Coordination – Tutwiler Parking Deck (UA# 782-16-951) , SW Campus Utilities and Infrastructure (UA# UTL-17-1016)

An electrical shutdown has been planned for the Tutwiler Parking Deck in order for Alabama Power Co. to convert their overhead lines to underground along the north side of 12th St.This work is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  The Tutwiler Parking Deck will be without normal power for approx. 3 hours within this timeframe.
If weather does not permit for 9/12, then this work will take place on 9/13 during the same time.
Notes:
• The Tutwiler Parking Deck has a back-up emergency generator and will remain operational
• UA Transportation Services to open gate arms prior to shutdown if needed

Electrical Shutdown – Bryant Denny Stadium , UA Electrical Maintenance

An electrical shutdown has been scheduled for BDS in order for UA Electrical to install additional meters for gameday monitoring.This shutdown is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, September 26th, 2018 from 5:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
This will NOT impact power to the Digital Media Center and the North Zone.
Notes:
• This will impact all electrical and mechanical systems
• BDS is on 7 back-up emergency generators
• The Emergency Operations Center will be impacted (EOC is on the back-up emergency system)
• Fire Alarm system is on back-up emergency system
• BDS has (2) fire pumps
• Chillers for the south zone, and east and west sides will be impacted
• West elevators will be out of operation. North, south and east elevators are on the back-up emergency system
• Camera systems/monitoring equipment will be ok per Michael Kelley (note from prior shutdown)
• Access control will not be operational.  Not on emergency system
• The gate control for Zoe’s on south end will be impacted
• The OIT data closet by the home team locker room is not on the emergency system. No other buildings should be impacted (note from prior shutdown)
Action Items:
• 2 fire pumps impacted – South and East Sides – East side fire pump is on back-up emergency system.  UA Plumbing to verify if the south side fire pump is on the emergency system
• UA Plumbing shop to verify if plumbing equipment (booster pumps, sump and grinder pumps, water heaters, ect.) are on the emergency system.  If not, is generator needed? (ask Terry McMillan with UA Electrical)
• UA HVAC to shutdown all mechanical equipment and start-up once power is restored
• UA Elevator Maint. to shutoff and secure all elevators that will not remain operational.  Verify start-up once power is restored
• UA Electrical to notify Stephen Lake 30 min prior to restoring normal power in order to test transfer switch functionality for east elevators
• Shawn Templeton to coordinate with Zoe’s Kitchen
• Due to security risk, building signage will not be posted
• Ricky Luker to submit work orders to shops for building support upon request
